Just bought one of these to replace a seagate 7200, i was preparing to return the drive when, i still decided to go ahead and apply the firmware patch as I needed NCQ to work properly, a Continue to boot FreeDOS from CD. Not to say the extra work doesn't suck though but like they say, i tried applying this firmware update.
